Flagstaff AZ January 2014 Events

Flagstaff has a lot more to offer in the winter than incredible mountain views and skiing and snowboarding. This little city provides visitors cultural excitement through art, music and local cuisine. January 2014 is full of events to entertain both young and old.

(un)Still Life Opening Reception

The Flagstaff Cultural Partners are putting on a reception for the new exhibit at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The exhibition runs from January to February and explores the commonality of the human experience and presents original anecdotes through art. The reception takes place Jan. 11, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. and many of the participating artists will be in attendance. Visitors to the event will also be able to enjoy food, beverages and live entertainment during the reception.

Flagstaff BrewHaHa

Flagstaff plays host to one of the premier beer tastings in Arizona Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. Held at the High Country Conference Center, the BrewHaHa features more than 75 different beers, appetizers, live music and a contest for Best in Show. The tasting begins at 2 p.m., but a VIP luncheon takes place at 1 p.m. with a gourmet lunch, special beer samples and early entry to the main event. Order your tickets ahead of time and get VIP access for $80 or general admission for $37. This is a 21-and-over event and safety is encouraged, so designated drivers can attend the event for $20.

Randy Rogers Band with Special Guest Wade Bowen

Guests are invited out to Orpheum Theater Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 to enjoy an evening of great country music with Randy Rogers Band and Wade Bowen. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. with ticket prices of $15 in advance or $17 the day of the show.

Ira Glass: Reinventing Radio

On Jan. 25, 2014, Ira Glass discusses his public radio show, This American Life, and takes the audience behind the scenes at Ardrey Auditorium. Presented by Greenhouse Productions, the show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $43.25. The New York Times has called Glass "a journalist, but also a storyteller who filters his interviews and impressions through a distinctive literary imagination."

George Winston

Greenhouse Productions presents Grammy winner George Winston at the Coconino Center for the Arts Jan. 26, 2014. In an intimate musical performance, the pianist will play selections from his best-selling albums, including Autumn, December, Winter Into Spring and Plains. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $40-$60.
