Lowell Observatory

Founded in 1894 by prominent mathematician Percival Lowell, the Lowell Observatory is active in astronomical research and welcomes visitors year-round for tours and telescope viewing. It features a 4.2-meter telescope rising seven stories above the top of a cinder cone.

The Lowell Observatory is open daily from March through May from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with evening hours of 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Call 928-233-3211 or visit for more information.
